ECHO, Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, is thrilled to join forces with National Geographic and great local sponsors to bring to you the Northfield Savings Bank Theater: A National Geographic Experience! ECHO is one of just 14 museum theater partners, and the only one in Vermont. Engage your students with 2-D and 3-D movies designed to educate as much as entertain. Students will be captivated by the award winning cinematography and engaging commentary that National Geographic is famous for.

Living in the Age of Airplanes reminds us how the airplane has profoundly changed the world and our lives. Beautifully filmed in 18 countries, across all 7 continents, the film renews our appreciation for one of the most extraordinary and awe inspiring inventions in the modern world. Produced and directed by Brian J. Terwilliger, Living in the Age of Airplanes is narrated by Harrison Ford and features an original score by Academy Award winning composer James Horner (Avatar, Titanic).

A teacher from Cabot visiting us last week said this about Living in the Age of Airplanes: “The film offers a compelling overview of the history of aviation. It puts into perspective how dramatically imagination can change the world.”

Sea Monsters 3-D: A Prehistoric Adventure brings to life the extraordinary marine reptiles of the dinosaur age in 3-D. Eighty million years ago, the American Midwest lay under a great inland sea where colossal creatures ruled the waves. From giraffe-necked Styxosaurus and sea birds with teeth to the T. rex of the ocean—the 40-foot super-predator Tylosaurus—these wondrous beasts defy imagination. In a remarkable journey, National Geographic immerses audiences in this unexplored world of the “other dinosaurs,” delivering the creatures brought to life on the big screen in 3-D.
